This distinguished certification is held by fewer than five percent of association professionals, marking a significant milestone in Gillian’s career.

The CAE certification process is notably demanding, requiring candidates to:
- Demonstrate substantial experience in nonprofit organization management
- Complete 100 hours of specialized professional development
- Pass a comprehensive examination in association management
- Adhere to a stringent code of ethics
To maintain the CAE credential, certified professionals must engage in continuous learning and active participation in association and nonprofit management activities. The CAE program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), underscoring its credibility and rigor.
Currently, over 4,500 association professionals hold the CAE credential, representing the highest standards of knowledge and ethical practice in the field.
